How to Use Canva AI to Create Business Cards
Business cards are the best way to introduce yourself - even in the digital age where innovation seems to outpace tangible products.
If you don't have time to hire a designer, head over to Canva to brainstorm, create, and print your business cards to get ready to network.
Canva Free gives you limited access to the Magic Studio AI toolkit, which can help you get started with a small project. You can get unlimited access to all features through Canva Pro ($120/year).
Canva regularly releases new features to aid in the creative process (there are currently 10 features in Canva’s Magic Toolkit alone). While it’s helpful to know everything about Canva, using a few of its features to achieve your goals is a more efficient approach.
You can use Canva's Magic Design, Magic Media, Magic Write, and Canva Print for your business card project.
How to Use Canva's Tools to Create a Business Card
Navigating Canva's tools isn't too complicated if you know what you're looking for - here's how.
First, log in to Canva from your computer or phone. Start on the Magic Design homepage.
Enter in the prompt what business card you want to create. You can also specify additional details to fine-tune the output, such as style preferences, theme, or the specific type of business you're creating for. This will generate up to 8 design options at the aspect ratio size of the business card.
The results will contain placeholder images, which you can replace using Magic Media, Canva's AI image generator. Here, you can also prompt the screen to generate the graphics you need or logo ideas for your business.
If you’re stuck for ideas for a brand slogan, Canva offers Magic Write to add this element to your design. This feature will generate copy that fits the available space on your business card. You can also experiment with Canva’s pre-filled prompts to help guide the tone.
Once you have your image and copy it back into Magic Design, you can work right in the app instead of navigating to other tools, which is great. Plus, with so many design templates available, there are plenty of opportunities to express your creative ideas and output.
You also have the option to order physical copies of your business cards through Canva Print. The company has shared that for every print order, Canva will plant a new tree! That’s a great incentive since your business cards – regardless of the type of paper used – are not good for the environment. However, people still appreciate printing for the benefit of having something tangible.

Who should use Canva's design toolset?
Canva’s Magic Library is flexible, making it easy to edit and tweak whatever you’re working on. While the number of options can be a bit overwhelming, it can be a great resource for others.
These tools are ideal for professionals who want to create business cards quickly and easily – entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small business owners will find these tools most useful, with educators and marketers not far behind.
You can use many of these tools for free, which is always a great option, but upgrading to Canva Pro and getting unlimited access might be worth it if you plan on using the software beyond a one-time project.
Since there are nine different ways to use Canva that Quantrimang.com has covered—and many more beyond this article—you may find that one of its tools doesn’t really suit you, but you can rely on another. Since part of Canva’s mission is to make the design process easier, whether you’re creating something tangible or looking for inspiration, there’s no reason not to give it a try.
