How to Never Pay for Games and Apps on Android
When it comes to making purchases on the Play Store, many people haven't spent any real money in years, thanks to Google Opinion Rewards. Here's how you never pay for games and apps on Android!
Google Opinion Rewards is a great way to earn Play Store credit
Google Opinion Rewards is an app you can download on your Android device that regularly asks you questions to answer. It's also available for iOS devices, but you don't get as many questions, which makes it less engaging. Questions include things like "Did you just visit Walgreens?" or "Was this video interesting to you?"
For each question you answer, you’ll earn a few cents depending on how long you spend on it; quests that require you to look at different Google search results layouts can pay up to $1, though this is rare. Typically you’ll earn $0.50 or $0.60, but that adds up quickly. You can spend your Google Opinion Rewards balance on games like Railroad Ink and cheap subscriptions like Shonen Jump ($3/month).
The best ways to earn more credits with Opinion Rewards
A basic tip is to turn on location services so it asks every time you go anywhere near a mall. You still get points for saying “no,” so don’t be afraid to be honest.
Each survey has a time limit, so you can't ignore them for too long. When you get a notification, it's best to take it right away before you forget. The surveys are short, so you can easily take them in your spare time and turn that spare time into a money-making opportunity.
What Not to Do in Google Opinion Rewards
Sometimes, the app may ask you to scan a receipt from a recent purchase, such as from a supermarket. The app will first ask if you actually went to that store, then ask if you bought anything. If you answer “yes,” you’ll get a prompt to scan the receipt. There’s even a dedicated section on the app’s home screen to remind you to do so at your convenience.
The amount you earn in Google Opinion Rewards tends to be proportional to the time you spend on each question. The app will pay $0.10 per receipt scan.
Honestly, don’t do it. It may not be a difficult task, but your time and privacy are worth a lot more than the 10 cents Google pays. You might want to reconsider doing it if Google increases the reward to $1.
Google Opinion Rewards is a useful tool in everyday life. You won't feel like your privacy is being invaded because the questions are often based on things Google already knows about you, and it's nice to have "allowance" to buy digital content from the Play Store.
